Our story:
Founded in 2010 by Robert Buchanan, System2System was created to help businesses grow successfully.
Built on a foundation of engineering and science, solutions are delivered using evolving methodologies based on both waterfall and agile practices. The company is orientated to look to the future to innovate and improve. One such development has been to embrace the power of modelling combined with existing System Engineer practices. We are now a huge advocate of MBSE and other such innovative approaches to bring traditional approaches alive.
However, we don’t stop there; as members of numerous technology institutions, we continually research and invest in future trends, processes, and tools, especially where we can bring value to our clients.

We work with clients to develop products and services, solve complex problems, or enable business transformation.
We aim to quickly understand the client’s language and world view – their experience of the world and where they place themselves within it. This allows us to quickly break down traditional barriers and integrate with the client team. It’s then a case of employing the best approach for the project, not just the ‘best practice’!
We find that clients often want a tailored package of services and that’s what we create. We draw on our experience and tested methods to present optimised plans for the particular set of circumstances and to best suit the client.
The desired outcome always remains front and centre as do the benefits we are aiming to realise. By maintaining this forward look, we reduce uncertainty and manage acceptable levels of risk.
We specialize in the Development Phase of the project and in particular Analysis, Modelling and Validation.
Some of these terms might not traditionally be associated with development but that’s because we mix the concepts of traditional systems methodology and that of agile, fail fast, software development. Early concept models and testing with end users greatly reduce error and waste in the middle to late stages of a project - especially as this is where spend grows rapidly.

We build on the premise of model-based system engineering using static and dynamic models to understand the system without ‘you’ having to build it. We employ a range of techniques ranging from related structure diagrams to a variety of dynamic models linked together, providing ‘you’ with accurate real-time outputs.

Validation is an activity we advise in running alongside Analysis and Modelling to ensure active management with proactive, measured adjustment to efficiently and effectively reach the desired outcome. The ultimate product of validation is to determine not only that the user needs the product or service, but that the product or service is the best way of meeting that need.
